Hmmmmm
OK OK been a couple of years. Been a little busy lately. Well, I have a few more 4 legged grandchildren, off shiftwork for the first time in 30+ years, and a couple years older.
Cats are well. They are 10 years old now. Been fussing at each a little more than normal.
Was looking at some old cruise photos the other day. It struck me that 3 of the 8 people in the picture are gone now. It has hit home that we shouldn't go as long as we do between visits with Bob and Barb. Not mention it is Florida where they live....
Mornings
Have to get moving. NH Sheep and Wool Festival this weekend. Last weekend we were in Maryland. It was nice. The area was mostly farm land with some pretty impressive houses. It had a good feel to it. Went out to see Sister Gracemary a month ago and that area had a completely different feel to it. Cats will be a little upset that I am gone again but they will be fine. What will really upset them is if the Union goes on strike. I will be stuck at the plant for 2 weeks and they will have to depend on John. Hmmmmm. Good thing they don"t know.
Life is good...
I think my life is in a fairly stable point now. I don't have having to study for the next exam hanging over my head. I am back into the cycle of shift work, ( as much as I hate having to do nights, it is familiar). I just passed this years annual requal without any real hiccups. I am down 80 pounds from weight loss surgery on June 23rd, 2001. Life is good. If a curve ball is thrown my way, I'm pretty sure I can deal with it without too much hand wringing. I have all sorts of plans for yarn and knitting and crochet projects and I am accomplishing them.
Change
I hate change. I hate the uncertainty of what comes next. I hate the not knowing what to do. I hate the lack of control when life changes. I'm a virgo so that explains a lot. Death is the ultimate change in our lives. Three months after we moved into the house that we currently reside in, our neighbor's wife suddenly passed away. She left behind two boys and a daughter. Her daughter was the youngest and about 13 at the time. Years later I read her year book and I remember she had written, I hate death. At the time I understood and attributed the comment to a young girl who lost her mother.
Long time no see
been awhile, was at the Barnstable fair, worked my butt off but had a great time. getting close to SRO school. Could be a beney in there as the school is worth a bunch of college credit. John left for NJ with Gene. It is the Brenden Borak weekend. gotta work tonight . I might go to the Bolton Fair tomorrow. Dont know. Might just stay home to enjoy the peace. Pats won last night against Philly in the preseason. hehehehehehehe.
Pets
Did you ever notice that pets seem to think that you are incapable of going to the bathroom without their supervision? What, we need help to wash our hands afterward? I never get it. I have seen this in both dogs and cats. I had a dog that would be fast asleep and as soon as I went in the Bathroom he would be at the door waiting. My cats actually will scratch at the door. Kinda funny seeing this paw come out from under the door...
Happy July 4th!!!!!!!!!!
Had to work today but I got home and it is warm for once. HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saw Harriet on TV at the Boston Pops!! During Sweet Caroline.
getting closer to the first year anniversary of Mom's passing. Its been tough. I never used to go more than 2-3 weeks without calling and talking with her. So I get a little antsy and and think I should call her and thats when i remember.....
Today during a break, Matt was the only one whose number I knew, so he had to put up with the call, need to learn the other kids numbers to "spread the wealth" so to speak.
Life is good
Well, have the house to myself for the next week. John went down to NJ early to work on his parents house and I will fly to Philly in a week to go to the Red Soxs -Phillies games. This Sat, Jim Morris will be at the Captains Cove seaport in Bridgeport ,CT. Jim Morris is a singer songwriter from FL. The concert he is doing is a yearly event for the Metro Parrothead Club. Last year Patrick got married that weekend so I missed it. I havent heard Jim Morris live in a couple of years so I am looking forward to it.
